2012 Mountain Rally
Early morning on Saturday 7th July 2012 a field of 57 cars assembled at the old toll area at Berowra and were flagged away at 30 second intervals heading off up the old Pacific Highway.
This years event was set as a Tour by director Brian Todd using questions and Gary Maher style photos to ensure everybody followed the correct route.
The event wound through the beautiful Yarramalong Valley and on to Cessnock for s a welcome break and a chance to compare notes. The afternoon the event used a large loop to Maitland and then on to day’s end at Pokolbin where dinner was held.
The next morning we enjoyed a very filling breakfast it was off to lunch at Kandos via the Bylong Way. Most of his road had previously been gravel, but not now. The road had recently been tarred and it was the Hero road of the event, a true driver’s road winding through the Bylong Valley. Some drivers were even heard to say where has this road been all my life.
After lunch it was off to Hartley for the finish at the mid Hartley Primary School.
