Description
A rare piece of motoring history. Presenting one of the most significant XK140s to ever grace Australian roads — all matching numbers and a genuinely rare survivor with the pedigree to match its beauty.Jaguar built only 843 right-hand drive Fixed Head Coupe XK140s in the entire production run. Of those, a mere 45 were imported new into Australia — and this car is one of just 14 sold new in Sydney. Numbers like these aren't just statistics; they're the difference between owning "a classic Jaguar" and owning an irreplaceable slice of Australian motoring heritage.
From 1986 to 1991, this XK140 underwent a complete and comprehensive ground-up restoration at the hands of the late Mr Bryan White - a very passionate and dedicated Jaguar enthusiast (and an ex-President of the Club), all done to original British specification, and the engine was totally rebuilt by Mr. Graeme Lord, another Jaguar Club legend. Every detail was addressed with the marque's authenticity in mind, and more than three decades on, the results speak for themselves: beautifully preserved, meticulously maintained, and running as a Jaguar of this calibre should. The preventative maintenance journey has been diligently continued for this XK140 and in the recent years it has had the following key items replaced: new tyres, battery, HT leads, GT40 ignition coil, new “123” distributor, SU fuel pump, fuel filter, thermostat, hoses and complete refurbishment of carbs and radiator. This car also has a collection of detailed hand written notes on its complete restoration and a collection of rare books on the XK140.
This XK140 has also won many awards through the years.
Why selling now: This Jaguar XK140 has been cared for as a custodian would care for history — not just a car, but a legacy. Now it's time to pass that custodianship to the next generation of enthusiasts who will treasure it as it deserves. Opportunities to own genuine, documented rarity like this don't come along often. If you've been waiting for the real thing — this is it. Serious enquiries welcome.
