Tuesday, 19 January, Annual General Meeting

JDCA Admin - Wednesday, January 13, 2021
Tuesday, 19 January, Annual General Meeting and Guest Speaker, Strathfield Golf Club.

This is our statutory AGM and we must have a quorum of 20+ persons with voting rights (a family membership is one vote, an individual membership is one vote). We have deferred the meeting from November.

It is at this meeting that the membership elects the Club Committee. We have nominations for most positions but still seek a Treasurer for 2021. I do thank those that have nominated as the Club can only function by way of the membership volunteering to take on the various tasks.

I wish to take this opportunity to thank the outgoing Committee as I am fully aware of what a frustrating 12 months we have all had to endure what with cancelled events, limited opportunity to conduct meetings etc.

Although we are all aware of the very recent concerns at a fresh outbreaks of the Covid-19 virus, it is comforting to note that infection rates are minimal and social distancing rules have been tightened in order to limit risk and contain any spread. The Strathfield Golf Club has advised that it has adopted all necessary requirements in terms of social distancing and can accommodate our meeting either in the bistro area or one of the function rooms.

So please attend this very important meeting. If you cannot, please complete the attached proxy form and return it to Secretary, Garry Baxter ASAP (jdcasec@jaguar.org.au or.mail it to JDCA PO.Box 1485 Macquarie Park NSW 2113)

I am not seeking re-election as President and wish to thank the Club Executive, Committee and membership for the support I have received over the last 14 months.

Gavin Luxton, Marketing Manager for Shannons has been invited to brief us on the detail of the Company’s new Roadside Assistance Scheme which enables a client to cover up to 8 cars on the one premium.

You can dine from 6:00 pm as usual so please come and start the New Year on a positive note. That’s right, stick it up Covid-19, but do bring your face mask.

Regards

Bob Adby
