OUR MEETING VENUE HAS MOVED

Ken Britton - Saturday, June 09, 2018
Just before Christmas 2017 we were informed by Denistone Bowling Club there would be no Bistro at Denistone for maybe three months due to a refurbishment of the facilities.

On an interim basis, the committee decided to move the general meetings to Brush Park Bowling Club at Dundas with the intention of returning to Denistone once the refurbishment was carried out.

Recently Denistone Bowling Club has opened their new Bistro, but the clubs approach to cars club meeting there has changed.  They can no longer give us storage space for our Library and Regalia.   Also they are not willing to guarantee that we won’t have to share the room with other clubs meeting on the same night.

Jason and his fabulous team are no longer part of the “new” Bistro, as the catering is now being done in-house.

With all of these changes your committee has decided for the time being, to make Brush Park Bowling Club at Dundas our new home.  They have made the JDCA welcome and have provided us with downstairs storage for our Library and Regalia. They are also making arrangements so that we can have the Library upstairs on meeting nights

Because so many of you come along to have a chat and a meal with friends beforehand, Brush Park allows us the same facilities.

Your membership of Denistone Bowling Club also gives you entry to Brush Park, or else you can sign in as a visitor as you did at Denistone. It’s right on the corner of Marsden Rd and Kissing Point Rd, with the physical address listed as 77 Rutledge St.

You cannot turn right into the venue from Marsden Rd if you approach from Victoria Rd, (Refer to the mapshowing you the possible entry routes)

In any case, the Bistro has lots to choose from, and the Bar is well stocked (with Wade in attendance!) Parking is plentiful behind the Club, just be careful of the culvert at the distant end of the car park if you are driving a low-slung Jaguar.
