FITNESS TO DRIVE medical assessments

Web Administrator - Saturday, August 08, 2020
Save time – have your Fitness to Drive medical assessment submitted online

If you’re an older driver, have a medical condition or hold a certain licence class, you may be asked to have regular Fitness to Drive medical tests.

Transport for NSW has improved this assessment process so that all GPs, specialists, occupational therapists and optometrists can now submit NSW Fitness to Drive assessment forms for their patients online. We have developed 12 new online specialist forms, and improved the online form for GPs. This makes the assessment process quicker and easier for drivers who need a regular medical check to continue driving.

When the form is completed online, it is instantly sent to Transport, saving you a trip to a Service NSW Centre to hand in the paper form.

Your doctor will get an instant response confirming your assessment has been received and a copy of the completed form will be stored for future reference.

So if you receive a request for a medical review in the mail, take the letter to your doctor and ask them to submit the assessment online for you.
